Radio Wolf aka Oliver Blair is an electronic music artist, composer, songwriter and record producer. His trademark sound is a retro-futuristic fusion of electronic music and rock n roll, resonant with romantic spirit. A visual arts background inspires him to imbue his music with a “cinematic” quality.

For his 2017 self-produced debut EP, Rock n Roll Forever, he focussed on crafting an album of original “jukebox worthy” pop-rock “singles” collaborating with the perfect vocalist for each track. Each of its four songs features a different female vocalist: Kelli Ali (ex Sneaker Pimps), Sarah Blackwood (Client/Dubstar), Marika Gauci (Hotel Motel) and Holly Dodson (Parallels).

The album’s auteur style production, infused with steady driving synths and soulful guitar riffs, ensures its overall sonic cohesion, despite the different vocal styles heard. It was enthusiastically received by various electro and indie rock blog-sites, for example: “…one unique and refreshing sound that is both retro and modern…” (Wolf In A Suit).

In 2019 he was approached by award-winning visual effects artist Eric Demeusy (Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, TRON: Legacy) to create the original pop soundtrack for his debut feature film PROXIMITY. Choosing Holly Dodson (Parallels) as collaborator and vocalist, he wrote, performed and recorded an album of seven songs with her.

Released by LAKESHORE RECORDS, the album’s fusion of lush, romantic synth pop with guitar rock hues, haunting vocals and experimental sound design, was reviewed as, “…celestial synth magic…a retro-futuristic blast of sonic motivation” (Vehlinggo). In 2020, a follow-up special instrumental version of the soundtrack was also released by the label.

In 2021 he produced the singles “Carnival Night” and “Gold Heart” for synth-pop singer-songwriter NINA. His production was deemed “…masterful…” (Wonderland Magazine). The collaboration continues as they work on a new album of original songs inspired by their mutual love of cinema, rock n roll and electronic music.

A new Radio Wolf instrumental EP, NIGHT LIGHT, invokes what he calls, “Cinema of the mind”. The album was conceptualised and recorded in exclusively nocturnal work sessions while living in different parts of the world.

The artist has Canadian, British and Irish nationality and currently lives in Berlin.
